I was so excited to hear that my painting “Verging on Fowl” was selected by Jack Fischer Gallery to be included in the Art2Life International Juried Art Exhibition this year (2022). There were 1,700 entries, of which 93 were chosen.
The painting consists of multiple layers with transparent glazes. As usual there was no forethought; the image just appeared and the palette of colour arrived at by layering different tones. Drawing into the image defined the central bird. A layer of gloss media stabilises the mixed media and protects it.
