Often Rocks, stones and pebbles are used as a metaphor for life’s challenges, perseverance, and the importance of small actions.
I started this series of paintings during the Turps Hastings course in autumn 2024. I was at an impasse with my paintings and I needed a shakeup. I turned to my childhood experiences of climbing in the Lake district. So much is dependent on the ground you walk. The different surfaces and the slow decent. Such is the process in painting.
